Stewardship Voices: June Garrison shares her blessings in an interview with Martha Allen
Last Sunday, Drew Hensel opened Lake Harriet’s 2017 stewardship campaign by sharing insights from Martha Allen’s interview with our eldest and longest serving member, June Garrison. (Click here or on the photo.)
Drew also shared, “We’ll each be receiving a letter soon with an Estimate of Giving form we can use for renewing and increasing our individual and family pledges to Lake Harriet UMC for 2017.” Note: You can also download that form by clicking the following link 2017-estimate-of-giving-form_print-only_10-19-16.
“Over the next few Sundays, we’ll be hearing from church members and leaders about several important ministries to our church, and where each of them see God at work in our midst. Pledges can be submitted online through our secure website using the button at right, or by bringing your Estimate of Giving forms to church services or to the church office on or before Celebration Sunday, November 20.”
Drew suggested that as we reflect on June’s words and our own experiences, we consider the following:
- How June has seen God at work in our midst at Lake Harriet, from her teenage years and early 20s;
- How we all may see how God continues that work in our midst, today;
- How June feels blessed to be an intimate part of the life blood of our church through through her gifts, presence, and involvement;
- Finally, through your own gifts, what blessings have been added to your life and how your gifts of time and support can provide blessings to others in our midst.
Special thanks to Keith Bridges for video editing, Chad Johnson and Michael Perry for sound, Martha Allen for interviewing June Garrison, and Stacey Edwards for filming the interview.
