What

There are many opportunities in the local and greater community to volunteer to assist with emergency preparedness or disaster response. Here is a short list to give you some ideas.

• Minnesota UMC Annual Conference – Early Disaster Response Team, EDRT
• United Methodist Church – Volunteers in Mission, VIM
• Faith Group Collaborative for SW Minnesota
• Community Emergency Response Team, CERT, for local communities
• Volunteer Organizations Assisting with Disaster, VOAD, ex. American Red Cross

Commitment

Some volunteer opportunities are as local as a Minneapolis CERT neighborhood volunteer. Others opportunities such as UMC-Volunteers in Mission, UMCOR or the American Red Cross can take you around the country or the world. The availability of your talents, time determine your commitment.
