Youth Ministries Team

What

If you step in the door at LHUMC, you're involved in the Youth Ministry. Youth Ministry is an important part of the community, and the community is an important part of the Youth Ministry.

If you'd like to become more involved, here are a few suggestions:

  • Become a member of the youth ministry team (YMT) to affect programs, direction and hope for youth ministries.
  • Become a confirmation mentor
  • Become a Senior High Youth Sponsor: attend drop-in on Wednesday nights and spend time getting to know younger members of LHUMC
  • Attend a mission trip. Each year, adults are needed to attend intergenerational mission trips with junior high and senior high youth.
  • Join in fellowship (and provide transportation) for scheduled outings like the La Puerta Abierta Christmas gift shopping trips, field trips to movies and skating
  • Talk to younger members of LHUMC when you see them! Ask them about themselves and what they are interested in.
  • Pray for the youth as a group and as individuals as this is an integral, and sometimes tough, time in their growth as people and as Christians.
  • When & Where

See the Youth Calendar for particular events.

    Commitment

    Ten minutes to ten years!

    Witness Statement

It's amazing how God is present with us if we're rebuilding houses, driving in a van for 16 hours, praying together, laughing together, overcoming struggles together, or playing games. God's presence is always felt in Youth Ministry, and that's something to be excited about."

    — Lisa Schensted

The LHUMC youth are astounding folks and it is exciting to hear about the world from their perspective.

I have helped a lot of people and created a lot of wonderful memories through mission trips.î Preston Grant4. Youth ministry at LHUMC provides many safe and wonderful ways for our kids to learn about the gifts that they have been given whether that is through theatre ministries, music or Sunday classes.
