Acting Team
The Acting Team works with the Director of Theater Ministry preparing and presenting theater pieces for worship. It’s a great chance to explore creativity at an individually supported pace!
What
Twice a month, the Acting Team provides sketches or other theater formats for the 11 am Sunday service. The cast meets and rehearses a number of times as needed. Each theatrical moment is designed to illuminate – or dance with - the topic of the specific worship experience.
When & Where
Periodically, interested people come together for a few hours in an open format to brainstorm, share creative insights, food, theater games, and prayer. Our intention is that people find support and growth in their individual creative pursuits as well as in an ensemble of fellow create-ors!
Commitment
Each theatrical moment has unique needs. Dancers, writers, actors, comics, musical theater buffs, journalists, jugglers, unicyclists – all might find their way into worship!
Often a sketch or other “event” is initiated, created and cast by the a combination of worship planners, the Director of Theater Ministry and the pool of people on the team.
Three rehearsals are usually sufficient; generally a couple of hours each, and these are scheduled as possible for those involved. Individuals spend time in personal preparation as well
