Meals On Wheels

Did you know that Lake Harriet UMC financially supports the metro Meals on Wheels program? Meals on Wheels is a community-based service that provides fresh, nutritious meals delivered directly to the homes of seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the Twin Cities. In addition to regularly providing healthy foods, caring volunteers provide social connection that helps meal recipients remain living independently in their own homes. We hope to rebuild a group of volunteer drivers. If you are interested in participating in this vital ministry, click here.
Metro Meals on Wheels was founded in 1997 as an association of independent Meals on Wheels programs in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area to provide support needed to meet the growing demand for nutritious home-delivered meals. Meals on Wheels programs have existed in the Twin Cities for more than 40 years. Metro Meals on Wheels was founded when community-based programs recognized that by forming an association, each program could benefit from a partnership that allowed them to share common resources.
